EARTHBOUND
On a midnight, Jaleh, Namdar’s sister comes to his house in a remote village in Kurdistan and asks him to foster her son Bobak. Namdar refuses but despite his reluctance Jaleh leaves his son with him and goes. Bobak uses drugs and has attempted to commit suicide a few times. Uncle accepts Bobak’s stay under the condition that he quits using drugs.
Mrs. Salari, an artwork collector who buys Namdar’s paintings together with Shabnam his old love interest pays a surprise visit to Namdar. The two ex-lovers spend the night recalling past memories. The next day Shabnam and Mrs. Salari return to Tehran. The relationship of the uncle and nephew improves for the better every day and meanwhile, Bobak falls in love with a Kurdish girl who has been promised to be married off to her cousin. Bobak pays no attention to the warnings and when the locals find out they beat him to death.
A while later, Bobak’s friends come to visit and bring him drugs but he rejects and chooses living with his uncle.
Namdar through Jaleh finds out that the reason Shabnam had returned to Iran was her cancer and now she has been admitted to the hospital. Namdar packs his suitcase and leaves for Tehran to visit her. Bobak though remains in the village and awaits his return.
